"I am interested in expressing myself through sound. I like to paint with sound the same way that I do with paint or some other medium. Most of my works are fully improvised. When I create music I want to take people on a strange journey through time and space and lead them to places they did not know they existed. There are endless options and I like to explore every corner of sound itself."

I started my activities in 2003 as noise/metal author. I recorded more than 10 works till the end of 2004 and it was noise, ambient, experimental metal etc. I had some tape, CD-R and CD releases, and main of them was dedicated to European traditionalist and pagan views in some radical form. I broke with such views in the middle of 2007/ I had to come through harsh spiritual experience to find my point of view in this life. Till 2008 I move to more and more dada and some Buddhist touches in art that expressed in my active projects as IAMNOTHING, NIGULESUGCI, MNL9 (ex-MONOLOGUE), ... (this is the kind of name too!)). Totally I recorded more than 50 full-lenght works till now and started with collages and junk-art assemblages in 2009 also.

Krakenti comes from Latvia, Daugavpils, sweet nice town with little blood and half-happy pensioners. dance clubs and so on. but in every place there are people, who try to do their best to help there town people. somehow. we should not only don't do "bad" things, but we should do "good" things. So, about music, i (Krakenti) mostly enjoy melodic glitchy electronic music, also all kinds of instruments..but there is sometimes need to go somewhere else, like this release VNN-019.

Harsh Noise, industrial, landscapes, sometimes drones. One Thousand Pilots was discovered in 1997 while I was walking over an isolated place near Semipalatinsk (Kazhakstan): This place was formerly a huge "nuclear test field" during the soviet era, now full of isolated, tumbledown buildings, and towers in the middle of the steppe. Some inhabitants of the cities near to the zone, tell me about that there, in the isolated test fields, and during the last 30 years people have listened legends about the "The thousand pilots", a supposed kind of group or subhuman society living hidden and secretly in the underground and that got the ability to produce dreadful and frightening "sounds" to communicate, just using amplification of their contaminated throats...and brains. Near Semipalatinsk, in a isolated building, I found some reel tapes with just one label in the case "One Thousand Pilots". I can't say much more about this...

Xarhope is Samuel Ufus solo project, that have been doing music for around 10 years. During this time I have been traveling and living here and there, inside my country and in another palaces in Europe, making music here and there, always in a very low conditions, and I'm not complaining. Traveling and making music is for me really connected. The post-punk altitude suited me very nice, and brought the sense to my traumatic need of expression! Jazz and improvised music was the cream and spiritual thing to me as a traveler that have to improvise almost everyday. I'm also a writer mainly connected with surrealism and the beat generation. Till now ? have worked with different projects such as, VACUUM (weirdmetal/tribal/experimental), 2000-2001, with Gabriel Moreira. ENGENHO (improv, noise, darkwave, punk,), 2001-2010 with Marco Ramos. JACKPOOOTE (improv/punk/dub/tribal), 2007-2008, with Gonalo Pinto. TALiSMUTrio (freejazz/rock), 2008-2009, with Marcelo and Ara. PREGUiZZA (postrock/ambient/fieldrecordings/poetry), with Luis Antero and lastly I have been working with Carmen Serralva (nemraca), we have been improvising with toy instruments, electronic stuff, doing fieldrecordings and spokenword in our travel from Portugal to Turkey. We both are part of the art collective TONTURA RURAL. www.tonturarural.blogspot.com another released albums: Jackpooote, xs records - 2008 / Xarope xarhope, electro rucini - 2008 / Engenho amazonia, xs records - 2008 / Preguizza, xarope cossoul out level, electro rucini rec - 2008 / Talismu trio live at patelas club, electro rucini rec - 2009 / Engenho seagull, electro rucini rec 2009 / xarhope-jackpooote-engenho freaking out at republica solar 44, clinical archives -2009 / xarhope-missraca-misstara-skywalker taranto house, editora do porto 2009 / preguizza-engenho-alrucini tontura rural, electro rucini rec -2009/ xarohpe & nemraca "la strada", electro rucini rec - 2010.
