After about 15 hours of "Not ready yet. Waiting 10 seconds for checkin..." from archive.org, the latest from Very Nice Noise is now available. This self-titled effort and VNN sophomore release by CK Vixen is very focused on abstract beats and glitched out rhythms. Progressive layering of sounds and good track to track dynamics keep this release from boring the listener, but it's also very easy to let this one sit on repeat and act as a background soundtrack.
2008.10.27 // Canine Noise
The latest VNN release is laced with drones and glitched out samples are mixed together with abstract beats that will leave you wanting more. Well it left me wanting more, at just over 16 minutes, it's definitely too short, so we're definitely looking forward to a follow up in the future.
2008.10.22 // You Don't Care
New release today by VNN alum, alleen. "dir egal" which loosely translates to "you don't care" or "doesn't matter to you" (from the author, "it's not possible to translate it directly into English, with only 2 words). Fortunately, you don't need to translate the title to enjoy this release. Just over 25 minutes of ambient textures filled with static and depth. Along with the textures and background noise, buzzing synth lines fade in and out to give a sense of rhythm and movement in and out of the fog. Download this release today and let alleen know that you care.
2008.10.06 // The Cycle
I guess the biggest issue with releasing material as fast as I get it (part of the VNN quick turn around guarantee) is that I end up putting a bunch of releases out over a 2 week period, and then there's a month or so of a lull. That's the cycle I suppose, no biggie.
2008.09.07 // Dear Douche Bags
I'd like to thank all the douche bags that figured out that you can simply put a space in each field on the contact form to make it send a blank email to me. To you, I say "fuck you" as I have fixed the issue, and while I was in there I made sure valid email addresses are required (granted, this could be worked around as well... and I'm sure some asshole that has no fucking life will exploit just to get under my skin... oh and I'm working on a way to patch that scenario too, so take that!) Also, to the artists of VNN, I did make some changes to the admin, been porting it to a newer version of my PHP framework, and there may be some issues with it. I addressed what I could, but may have missed something. If that's the case, shoot me an email and I'll take a look. Cheers!
