2008.09.03 // Has it really only been 6 months?
So I lost sight of something interesting while being buried under a slew of new releases. Very Nice Noise has been around for just over 6 months (the domain was registered on 2008-02-19 (early birthday present for myself) and the first release was 2008-03-08) and we already have 11 releases! I'm hoping to keep the same momentum if not gain a bit more over the next few months, as well as start offering more limited run tangible releases (if anyone has a Gray Audograph they'd like to donate, I have a stack of blanks I've love to pull off one helluva obscure media release). To mark the sub-anniversary and the fact that we've reached and exceeded double digits of releases, I've added a n RSS feed for our release list to help everyone stay up to date. I wasn't sure if there was more relevance of have a feed for the news, the new releases or both, so for right now it's just releases. Enjoy, and here's to a very active rest of the year!

2008.09.02 // All the way from Spain
Please welcome yet another new artist to VNN, One Thousand Pilots. To help celebrate the latest addition to the VNN roster, why not download Primun Mobile, which was just released literally moments ago. The release is probably some of the most rhythmic harsh noise you will ever hear. Glitches are used to simulate machine gun rhythms and other effects / noises are layered in and around to give a sense of actual song structure as well as dynamics. The waves of complex harsh noise and industrial elements swell and diminish just often enough to make sure you don't suffer from ear strain.

2008.08.31 // When it rains it pours
The releases just keep on coming folks. Released today is Apathy by Bulgarian noisician GENDA. The release is a very short (2 tracks) industrial noise endeavor. The tile track takes ambient textures and mixes them with industrial clanks and scrapes to create a soundtrack for life in some sort of futuristic factory (like something out of the Alien movies). Porno nation takes the same formula and shakes it up with some samples of orgasmic moaning. Even though it's short, this release provides some very complex and dense listening.

2008.08.25 // Took ya long enough!
After about 15 hours of "Not ready yet. Waiting 10 seconds for checkin..." from archive.org, the latest from Very Nice Noise is now available. From the first track of the countdown to the number eleven, I was blown away. Ambient textures and percussives along with slightly detuned guitar chords all packaged together in a neat little box. Often times through out this release, I felt a sense of urgency that a track was building into a huge rock ballad or something of the like, but instead left me with anticipating what was to come next. Volume swells and a beautifully spacey as well a rhythmic synth lines also made their appearance on eleven. The final, titular track also features a video accompaniment that feels like something out of Joy Division's or Nine Inch Nail's play book. A very well put together release that I'm glad Very Nice Noise was able to release.

2008.08.24 // The latest by Hourglass Drops
Needle Nightclub Noise, the latest on Very Nice Noise by Hourglass Drops is short (perhaps too short) 4 track harsh noise endeavor. The album incorporates a good number of vocal samples (tastefully I might add) and a precise level of glitchiness that only Hourglass Drops can manifest. The next VNN release should be here very soon - technical difficulties with archive.org is delaying the release. It's titled "eleven" by alleen from Germany and is an eleven song album complete with a video for the title track.
