2008.08.21 // Vacation's Over
After playing a great many shows over the first half of the year, I decided to take a bit of a mental vacation over July and part of August (a summer vacation if you will). Unfortunately I didn't make that statement on the site, so there has been a bit of concern regarding the state of the net label. Even more unfortunately, there hasn't been a whole lot of interest from artists regarding releasing on Very Nice Noise. I blame part of that on the fact that I haven't been doing my part as a net label owner by advertising the label more and getting the word spread around. That will be changing soon and I'd like to think the initiative will help lend itself to more high quality releases on VNN. In the mean time, I would like to announce that in the very near future there will be a new release by Hourglass Drops, it will be a free download as per usual, and will be the Very Nice Noise follow-up to Return of the Butterfly Children which is still available in a limited edition CD-R edition.

2008.07.10 // Please welcome "otolathe" to VNN
I was contacted yesterday by Tampa-based artist otolathe (guitarist / noisician / analog gear head) concerning releasing a noise album with VNN. Of course the answer was "yes", so you can expect that release in the near future. As per the artist, the release is going to be different than their last release, a lot more noise oriented (the last release was very experimental and full of beautiful analog textures. Before the release hits you should check out otolathe's Enter Alia available for free download or CD-R from Meatronic Recordings.

2008.07.04 // Happy Birthday USA
That's right I said it.

2008.06.20 // Please welcome android: agitated to VNN
For your immediate consumption, the self titled release by android: agitated. This is not only android: agitated's first release on Very Nice Noise, but also their first release ever. Soon to be available in a very limited CD-R release (maybe 10 or so copies). You can help make sure all of our releases end up on tangible media by purchasing our shirts and other swag along with buying our existing tangible releases.

2008.06.16 // First CD-R Release
So I've been sitting on them for a few months now and I must apologize for that. Now without further adieu, I present to you Hourglass Drops - Return of the Butterfly Children in a limited edition of 30 hand numbered (by the artist) LightScribe CD-R's. Trying to recoup the money from having them shipped across the Atlantic so the price is a mere 5 US$ plus shipping and handling (I'd love to do postpaid prices as I had planned from the beginning, but the USPS is out to fuck the little guy so I can't). Buying this release will help ensure that more tangible releases are available in the future!
