Now available for your listening pleasure is C.A Sinclair's (a/k/a SSH Visor) latest masterpiece Indra. Indra is a live improvised recording using a contact-miked Indian drum, a delay pedal and a laptop. The mix of organic instrumentation and technology is used to create a soundscape that incorporates elements of many experimental genres including psychedelic music, harsh noise, glitch, ambient and more! Also, I added pagination to the home page (for the news) and updated the releases page to not look screwy for releases with longer titles. I haven't checked it in IE yet, but I don't recommend you use IE so there.
2008.04.18 // VNN-004 CDs are in!
All the way from the Netherlands, Very Nice Noise release #4 - Hourglass Drops' The Return of the Butterfly Children CD-R are in! I should have some time this weekend to get the shop set up and start selling them.
2008.04.15 // St. Pete Noise Fest 2008
The St. Petersburg Institute of Noise proudly presents the St. Pete Noise Fest 2008 at Cafe Bohemia in downtown St. Pete. The event is April 19th and starts at noon and goes all the way to midnight. I'll be performing and schlepping my wares to the masses.
2008.04.12 // My First Noise Show
We got a fairly brand new release for you today. It just so happens to be my first noise show as Insecticide Lobotomy. VNN-005 was recorded at the Ybor Cigar Theatre in Ybor City, Florida. Special thanks to K. Paul "otolathe" Boyev for the high quality audio recording and Marc "The Baron" Bellingrath for the video from his cell phone which turned out surprisingly well!
2008.04.10 // Noise night in St. Pete
Last night Rob (St. Petersburg Institute of Noise) hosted a hell of a noise night at the Uptown Bar in St. Petersburg, FL. The show as no cover and the uptown always has some sort of drink special (seriously, just ask). The night included Skiffle from Sarasota, The Black Beast of Arrrgh (their first live show... which is why I went) along with M31 and his space theatrics (Jams on lighting duty and it fucking rocked). There was also Some Dancing Skeleton with some pretty cool guitar playing with DAN MCGUIRE (yes, all caps) on sample duty. The night ended with The Uh... in one of the most brilliant short sets I've ever seen, and by far some of the most gear I've seen for such a short set (full marshall stack, another half stack and a couple of PA speakers, holy shit!) Was a great night with great folks, and it seems like there will be some more of these nights in the future.
